How is a chiropractic adjustment performed?

Positive changes in one's symptoms typically are noticed immediately following treatment.

Why is there a popping sound when a joint is adjusted?

Chiropractic adjustment or manipulation of a joint may result in the release of a gas bubble between the joints. When this gas bubble is released, sometimes a popping sound is made. This is the same noise that occurs when you crack your knuckles. The noise is simply caused by the change of pressure within the joint, this change of pressure releases gas bubbles. Although a sound is made, there is usually very minimal if any discomfort involved.
